Overview
The AIS Airlines Cadet Pilot Programme will provide training in leading you to your first airline job at AIS Airlines. This will be either on the Boeing 737 or Jetstream 32 aircraft. The training duration will be approximately 24 months.
Succesful applicants will be offered a conditional offer of employement prior starting training.
Choosing this program will offer several advantages such as partial financial assistance by AIS Airlines in order to fund the training cost, A JOC course on the Boeing 737 level D simulator and the possibility to include accommodation during your training.
Please note that in order to qualify for our Cadet Pilot Programme, the applicant will need to have the right to work and live in the EU.
Theoretical knowledge training – classroom based
The AIS Airlines Cadet Pilot Programme will start with a 8-month theoretical training where you will complete the following subjects:
- Airlaw
- Operational procedures
- IFR communications
- VFR communications
- Principles of flight
- General navigation
- Radio navigation
- Airframe, systems & powerplants & electrics
- Meteorology
- Human performance & limitations
- Mass & balance
- Instruments
- Flightplanning & monitoring
- Performance
These theoretical subjects will be covered in series of four blocks. Each with a duration of 2 months. All subjects are taught from Monday through Friday from 08:30 am until 17:00 pm at our training facility in Lelystad Airport.
Practical flight training
The practical training starts with a foundation training on Single Engine Piston (SEP) aircraft and once this is completed you will progress to the commercial and instrument training. The duration of training will be approximately 14 months and is divided as follow:
Phase 1 VFR till first solo TB-9
Phase 2 VFR navigation TB-9
Phase 3 VFR navigation exam TB-9
Phase 4 SEP simulator/actual IFR TB-10/FNPTII
MEP simulator IFR FNPTII
MEP actual IFR Cessna T303
Phase 5 MCC cursus Cessna Citation Jet FNPTII and JOC on Boeing 737
Phase 6 Type rating B737 or BAe J32
Upon completing phase 6 you will progress to your base training stage and thereafter start your line training with AIS Airlines. The line training will finish once you have passed the line check and from that moment you will be a fully qualified First Officer for AIS Airlines.
