Overview

The Airline Pilot Programme will prepare you for a role as a First Officer at one of the many global airlines.

Upon completing this program you will obtain a Commercial Pilot License, Multi Engine Piston and Instrument Rating (CPL/MEP/IR) including a Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC). Combined this is known as ‘Frozen ATPL (A)’ and you will be ready to embark your journey on the flight deck.

The training duration will be approximately 22 months.

This program will offer serveral advantages such as the option to include accommodation during your training and a JOC on the level D Boeing 737 simulator.

 

Theoretical knowledge training – classroom based

The Airline Pilot Programme will start with a 8-month theoretical training where you will complete the following subjects:

  • Airlaw
  • Operational procedures
  • IFR communications
  • VFR communications
  • Principles of flight
  • General navigation
  • Radio navigation
  • Airframe, systems & powerplants & electrics
  • Meteorology
  • Human performance & limitations
  • Mass & balance
  • Instruments
  • Flightplanning & monitoring
  • Performance

These theoretical subjects will be covered every two months in a series of four blocks in total. All subjects are taught from Monday through Friday from 08:30 am until 17:00 pm at our training facility in Lelystad Airport.

 

Practical flight training

The practical training starts with a foundation training on Single Engine Piston (SEP) aircraft and once this is completed you will progress to the commercial and instrument training. The duration of training will be approximately 14 months and is divided as follow:

Phase 1                VFR till first solo TB-9
Phase 2                VFR navigation TB-9
Phase 3                VFR navigation exam TB-9
Phase 4                SEP simulator/actual IFR TB-10/FNPTII
MEP simulator IFR FNPTII
MEP actual IFR Cessna T303
Phase 5                MCC cursus Cessna Citation Jet FNPTII and JOC on Boeing 737

Entry Criteria

Before commencing your flight training at AIS Flight Academy you will need to meet the following requirements:

Admission criteria

  • Age from 17 years
  • Successfully completed secondary education or pre-university education with mathematics, physics and English.

Foreign diploma

If you are in the possession of a foreign diploma, you can contact the Dutch institute called ‘Informatiecentrum Diploma Waardering’ (Information Centre for the Recognition of diploma’s). Upon request they can provide you with the Dutch equivalent of your diploma.

Medical criteria

Anyone wishing to obtain his/her commercial flight license will need to obtain a medical class I. AIS Flight Academy works closely with Aeglia (www.aeglia.nl) located at Lelystad Airport.

Finance

The course price for the AIS Airlines Pilot Programme is €112.500,- all included. AIS Flight Academy has a partnership with an external party called Flight Finance specialized in financing our pilot training programs. On our AIS pilot roadshow we will provide further information regarding the payment plan.
